Võ Vũ Linh (VVL) Scholarship
DESCRIPTION OF THE SCHOLARSHIP: VIDEO 

The VVL Scholarship was established in 2022 by a group of Len Duong Camp alumni.  This scholarship was designed to help young Vietnamese-Americans become future leaders. The VVL scholarship provides an annual scholarship up to $500 USD to help future leaders with the cost of transportation and fees for Len Duong Camp - as they learn how to pursue their career goals and enhance their leadership skills.

Application Requirements

The VVL Scholarship will recognize and reward the outstanding individual who:  

  • is committed to giving back to the community 

  • has demonstrated leadership qualities  

In order to be eligible for the VVL Scholarship, an applicant must: 

  • be 18 years of age or older by May 2023

  • register and attend Len Duong Camp 2023 to accept the award

  • be a Vietnamese-American university/college student

  • Complete and submit the Scholarship Application Form

  • Submit 2 portrait pictures to be used in LD camp booklet should you be selected for a scholarship (jpeg or png​

  • Create an original video and post on any social media (Facebook, Youtube, IG, TikTok) with the following criteria:

    • Choose one of the following themes for your video: 

      • What does being Vietnamese mean to you?

      • Là người Việt Nam có ý nghĩa gì với bạn? Bạn tự coi mình là người Việt Nam hay người Mỹ và tại sao?

      • What is TIMwork (teamwork) and why does it matter? 

      • Bạn nghĩ sao về câu nói, “Tiếng Việt còn, người Việt còn”?

    • Hashtag your video with the following hashtags: #LenDuong2023, #LenDuongCamp

Submission Requirements

Evaluation Criteria

Award

Upon completing all the application requirements, submit all documents as individual attachments in one (1) email to lenduongcamp@vcsa.org with subject heading: “Your Name – LDC2023 VVL Scholarship.”

  • Applicants for scholarships are evaluated for social awareness

  • Scholarship applications will be judged by LD Alumni with extensive experience in LD programs

  • Video submissions will be evaluated based on things that embody VVL’s legacy: creativity, humor, and artistry. As such, be bold and feel free to submit music videos, comedy skits, short story videos, and other unique ideas

  • Up to $500 USD. This is an annual scholarship presented at Len Duong Camp and will be paid directly to an individual winner.
