What is

Len Duong Camp

With the rising of the Vietnamese population in North America and the emergence of many youth-led community organizations, the Vietnamese Culture & Science Association (VCSA) recognizes a strong demand for a positive environment where young community leaders can sharpen their leadership skills, network with their peers, and share their experiences over the years of community involvement.

Since 1998, we have organized an annual Youth Leadership Development Camp named Len Duong (or “Embark on a Journey”) to fulfill these needs.  Must be at least 18 years old to attend.

Lên Đường Camp is a leadership development camp for young adults and professionals focusing on Vietnamese cultural experience, team building activities, new friendships, health and wellness activities.

Our Vision

Communities where adults and youths alike make personal and social responsibility a priority; where people use their unique skills and talents to make their community a better place; and where creative solutions, positive actions, and kind words are the catalyst for change.

Our Approach

Each year, Len Duong Camp provides approximately 250-300 young people the opportunity to develop and refine their leadership skills in a camp setting.

Participants get exposed to the concepts, elements, and processes of leadership; learn to recognize group dynamics and understand their effects on the leadership process; and enhance critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.

What Campers Say

“… I was overwhelmed by all the love that I was surrounded by...because in their eyes, I was a brother, a Vietnamese brother...it opened my heart and touched my soul. My Len Duong experience helped me find out who I am...I loved every moment of it. I cried on the plane ride back to New York.”
