DESCRIPTION OF THE SCHOLARSHIP: ESSAY

Charl-Arth Realty LLC (CARL) is pleased to announce 5 Scholarships to sponsor 5 UH-VSA members to attend this year’s Len Duong Camp.

Application Requirements

The CARL Scholarship will recognize and reward the outstanding individual who:  

  • is committed to giving back to the local community 

  • has demonstrated leadership qualities  

In order to be eligible for the CARL Scholarship, an applicant must: 

  • be 18 years of age or older by May 2023

  • register and attend Len Duong Camp 2023 to accept the award

  • be a Vietnamese-American

  • Complete and submit the Scholarship Application Form

  • Submit 2 portrait pictures to be used in LD camp booklet should you be selected for a scholarship (jpeg or png)

  • Submit a CV

  • Read and follow the guidelines for writing and submitting your essay

  • Choose one of the following themes for your essay: 

    • What is TIMwork (teamwork) and why does it matter? 

    • Do you consider yourself Vietnamese or American and why? 

    • Là người Việt Nam có ý nghĩa gì với bạn? Bạn tự coi mình là người Việt Nam hay người Mỹ và tại sao?

Evaluation Criteria

Award

Upon completing all the application requirements, submit all documents as individual attachments in one (1) email to lenduongcamp@vcsa.org with subject heading: “Your Name – LDC2023 CARL Scholarship.”

  • Applicants for scholarships are evaluated for leadership potential. Other important factors include career goals and social awareness

  • Scholarship applications will be judged by LD Alumni with extensive experience in LD programs

  • This is a scholarship presented at Len Duong Camp and will be paid directly to an individual winner.
